I found this home remedy for cough and it worked so well that I wanted to share it with everyone. The first night I tried it, my son threw up a bunch of phlegm after 5 minutes which helped him get cleared up. About an hour and a half later, I gave him another teaspon before going to bed and within 5 minutes he was asleep (it usually takes him at least 30 minutes to do that)! Although he had the rapid shallow breathing due to his history of asthma, he didn’t cough during this first night and was able to sleep the entire night. He only needed 2 nebulizer treatments to control his asthma symptoms*. On the second night his asthma symptoms were gone and really slept well – even eliminated his snoring (a chronic problem due to stuffed sinuses). By day 3, he had an occassional cough – not as frequent, severe or lingering like his previous experiences (lasts for at least 2 weeks). He was even able to play basketball and spend a day outside. I only had to give it to him in the morning and before going to bed. I usually give it every 3 hours until cough is gone. Here’s to green living and good health. SAY NO TO DRUGS! *Please do not take this as a cure to his asthma symptoms. I only used this to control his cough. I have been using other approaches to control his asthma and allergies all of which I believe have currently helped him recover quickly. Should his symptoms not improve with his doctor prescribed rescue medications, we are prepared to contact his doctor/take him to the ER …

Lately, there’s been a lot of building work going on around Dancing Rabbit. So for this episode of Dancing Rabbit TV, we’re taking the opportunity to provide a “how-to” natural building lesson, an in-depth video about earthen plastering techniques and application. Tamar guides us through every step of the way, showing how easy it is to make natural plaster from just a few simple ingredients, and both making and mixing the plaster, and then applying it to a natural home wall. Boston, MA: Melissa and Greenopolis TV are in Boston for the Natural products Expo – and maybe a Red Sox game? OK, so Melissas a Dodgers fan, but everyone should be a fan of the products and process at the Expo. This is a conference that walks its talk. Conferences and conventions generate an enormous amount of waste – from cardboard to cups to CO2. Natural Products Expo works to change all that by recycling everything – shipping crates and cardboard get recycled, all organic waste gets composted with local farms. Everything that can be reused or recycled is. The exhibitors model green living too – vendors like Kiss My Face build their booths using recycled metals, plastics and paper products – most of it post consumer, stuff that you and I have already gotten use out of. Save Your World products help conserve rain forest – the vital lungs of the earth that generate oxygen and absorb vast amounts of CO2. They use products sustainably derived from the rain forest, which gives it a higher economic value than cutting and burning it. They also practice fair trade relationships with the farmers and native peoples who produce their raw materials for their products, ensuring them a living wage and preservation of families, communities, and cultures Besides, using natural products is fun, is good for your body and soul, and help support businesses that support the planet. Melissa will be reporting on the people and events from this expo, in her own inimitable style and flair …

More urban myths about climate change are busted as I look at the Earth’s climate over the last 500 million years. What causes it to change? Since carbon dioxide was much higher in the past, why do climatologists say higher CO2 now poses a problem? And of course there’s the familiar myth that CO2 can’t influence temperatures because the climate was much colder in the past when carbon dioxide levels were much higher.
