Hey you Americans don’t know how lucky you have it:
-In the UK we are approaching a 50% income tax for people who earn over £150k ($240k corresponding), that’s not including local (council) taxation.
-we currently have a 17.5% sales tax and will soon have a 20% sales tax. It’s been +50% tax on alcohol, tobacco + fuel for years
-We have nothing like tax rebates in the UK
And Obama-care is NO where near socialism, it is still a million miles away from proper socialised medicine like in Europe.

@BradJC70 They are already coming over, the company I work for just hired an american from Florida. 20% unemployment down there, now they come over to steal our jobs.
yeah, they did that to us this last yr in Cali…the thing that they do though is look up to see if you have any unpaid balances to the city, state (DMV) or federal (student loans) and the like…this way, they never have to pay you…and they will not charge you what is owed, but more…in fact, it will be taken out of your paycheck @ work the following month…
Americans only reckon they own property. For more than a century they have merely been occupants of land owned by their local municipality, in other words a tenant. Take a look at your Land Deed. A Deed and not an Title. For a person to really own their land they must have allodial title and that isn’t going to happen but in a few states. Even then the real estate agencies will only provide you with a fee simple contract, unless you seek Title. This is why you must to pay property taxes.
