    cute video. bizarre composting method. steer manure is a much cheaper source of nitrogen, typically free, to start the pile. you don’t need to waste energy /money on the hog/wire. you can just pile it up, and take in it with a tarp. you only need ‘layers’ if you’re not going to turn the compost. get your hubby to turn- 21 days to compost max. grass clipping are fantastic. your alfalfa pellets have more chemicals than grass clippings. theromophilic process renders it harmless.

    That is what a neighbor said too. I head that grass will just clump up and not cook. I guess it is value a try since my contemporary compost pile is just a pile of dry leaves at the moment! lol

    @HikariHime29 i wouldnt buy rabbit food any, if im gonna spend money on soil id just go buy some from lowes. but just place in leaves and anything thats green plants or weeds.

    Is there an alternative to using rabbit food? I have everything mentioned on hand, but rabbit food and I don’t want to buy it if I don’t have too.

    instead of the rabbit food, just use ancient table scraps (like fruits and vegetables)

    I use grass clippings from my park distirct. They use no chemical, and they collect them for me. I mix well so the do not smell.

    best strait up info on how to get started especially for newbies like myself …ive been trying 2 become more “green” and i just finished my cage today so tomorrow i start to pile up the fixins’
