Okay I tried this and my consequences were: the corn shaded out the zucchini plants so that they did not get the proper sunlight (perhaps I planted to much corn), the pole beans (opps) grew above the corn stalks and the bean leafs stopped the pollination of the corn and now I have a mess. In all honesty it was a lot of fun and my compost bin is getting full. Will try again next year. Thanks for your video.
@jackburton2009 I plant near the sidewalk because the garden is really for the community – not just for me. I place up a sign that says “please don’t steal my veggies – I’m donating them to the local food pantry” – - this last year I had NO ONE steal or hurt the garden. like it!
Awesome blog! I was hoping to see the consequences of your Three Sisters garden. I didn’t look for too long – do you have pictures on your blog somewhere?
Thanks Mrs. Volfie – you are right. Although this year was a terrible year for the beans. They didn’t do very well overall. The zucchini’s were incredible!
I always understood that 3 sisters was a native north American garden..also the beans should not be planted in anticipation of the corn is at 4 inches high.

Why plant near the sidewalk? I couldn’t do that for vandalism and theft.

Gracias! I wish I were your kid.
Thanks! they’re coming along. I’m going to be doing even more in the future and can’t wait! I’m doing the thing with my life I like. Can’t beat that!
