5. Climate Change — isn’t it natural?

More urban myths аbουt climate change аrе busted аѕ I look аt thе Earth’s climate over thе last 500 million years. Whаt causes іt tο change? Sіnсе carbon dioxide wаѕ much higher іn thе past, whу dο climatologists ѕау higher CO2 now poses a problem? And οf course thеrе′s thе familiar myth thаt CO2 саn’t shape temperatures bесаυѕе thе climate wаѕ much сοldеr іn thе past whеn carbon dioxide levels wеrе much higher. @coturnix19 Did I ever say use biofuels? no I didn’t, maybe you should learn to read. I said use electric and hydrogen powered cars. We’ve had adequate equipment for electric cars since the 90′s and today’s batteries and hydrogen cars can meet the roving needs of well over 90% of the population.

  • coturnix19 says:

@TheHomelessCripple —no reason for any personal cars on the roads today—

today – there is. Especially in cars. Btw, biofuels are hoax – producing them will require increase in arable land, which impacts natural carbon cycle, destabilizing it as well as directly endangering ecosystems. Saw what brazilians are doin’ to selva?! And now they’re going to dam amazon river =), destroying precious forests (although more water is excellent for climate, and rainforests are terrible place to live in)

  • TheHomelessCripple says:

@coturnix19 you do realize there doesn’t have to be 1 absolute source. Uncommon regions can choose uncommon sources (and even mix) to optimize output based on location and resources.

But there is no reason for any personal cars on the roads today to be powered by fossil fuels. A large part of CO2 emissions would vanish if cars where switched to alt. fuels.

  • coturnix19 says:

@TheHomelessCripple solar energy, on the other hand, while it is too highly unevenly distributed across the earth, may be the way to go… when they lower the solar panel cost (and not with cheap labour) like 10 era and increase their efficiency… it will happen, i hope asap, but it is not here yet. Before that, the only real alternative to fossil fuels is nuclear energy. After all, the mentioned energy sources have nuclear(solar) origin, except geothermal which is partially gravitational

  • coturnix19 says:

@TheHomelessCripple if we consider wind to be ultimate source, sooner or later we’d have to tap into jet streams (or at least station turbines far into sea), as only they can supply our demand (that is growing, remember?). Extracting that much energy might greatly change climatic patterns (might not, needs calculations), moving jets further to poles … what that would mean? Not to mention the cost of floating turbines… and land-wind can only supplement our needs… too terrible…

  • coturnix19 says:

@TheHomelessCripple wind, hydroelectric and tidal have lots of downsides. Apart from their highly questionable ability to fill demand (i mediate they simply can’t), they are unevenly earth-distributed, require large investm, ents and, as in case with tidal, hydroelectric and partly windy – are very ecologically unfriendly – as low energy density and high cost of materials to invest requires wast territories of earth to be purged – river valleys and littoral zones are being especially endangered.

Well thank you Mr Potholer54 for bringing back some assemblance of scientific judgment and reason to the internet. Do you know how long it’s taken me to find someone who can set the record honest in such an articulate way without all the shite, bias, delusions, illusions, spin, terrible hypothesis, self interest and down right lies…..so on and so on….

I always remember a native american quote “How charming the language of the whites to make right look like incorrect and incorrect look like right”

  • TheHomelessCripple says:

    @coturnix19

are solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal and tidal energy not excellent enough to meet the demand? last time I checked those are free and ample sources.

  • coturnix19 says:

@TheHomelessCripple electricity doesn’t grow on trees, you know. At least not in quantities needed.

So with that failed climate peak and global warming disappearing out of the media to an extent, does this mean were all fucked?

The Phanerozoic Eon was 542 million years ago is that all we have to debunk bob carter.
Can you please point me where bob carter claims phanerozoic period co2 has no correlation with earth’s warmth with that graph.
I have looked but I cant find it Im worried.

    WHAT COOLING??? LOL!!!
MARCH was the HOTTEST March in the UAH 32 year satellite record.
UAH (Univ. of Alabama, Huntsville) is run by Dr. Christy, the well renowned AGW denier.
Global temperatures for FEBRUARY were 2nd WARMEST February in 32 years.
Global Temperatures for JANUARY were the HOTTEST January for UAH in 32 years.
    LOL!!

Every cent we spend on trying to modify the Earths climate is money not spent on cleaning our environment of toxins, terrible biocides that endanger all life. As an environmentalist, I’m appalled at the terrible science and hype around the global warming political passage. It’s as absurd as Al Gore inventing the internet.

=You dodged the Medieval Warming Period.=

No, I mention the MWP in other videos. Nothing is being dodged in this run.

  • nlpjohn says:

You dodged the Medieval Warming Period. Even alarmists such as Keith Briffa, Phil Jones, and other have conceded the MWP was liable a world-wide phenom whose temps were equal or greater than today’s warming… As for the quality of the proxy data, whose crediblity is crucial for any scientific claims, we have no thought how right this data truly is… I applaud your first five videos but this video fails to persuade…

    Dissolved CO2 makes acid.
By 2100, at contemporary rates of increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide, average ocean pH will drop 0.3 – 0.4 and be @ 7.8 with an increase in acidic H+ ion concentration of 150-200%.
That will cause a 50% DECREASE of ocean carbonate ions (CO3).
Carbonate ions are needed for growth by plankton & corals at the base of the ocean’s food chain.
    Oops!!!

For info. on CO2 ocean acidification check:

Simply push automakers into Electric and Hydrogen cars and ban the use of petrol in personal cars.

The only ppl who should be using gas are those transporting large cargo, where Diesel really is the only contemporary viable option for such large loads. The average person does not need to use gas.

Global Warming is changing our world NOW. CO2 is 35% above levels for 650,000 years. In just 30 years CO2 will be over 450ppm, enough to acidify oceans to the point of stopping the growth of many planktons and corals. They are at the base of the oceans’ food chain.

(2007 Bioinititive tax oil/gas/deisel/jet fuel to “encourage people to travel less” genuis, cont)

With the continuted layoffs from lack of sales and travel from the lack of sales and travel and more and more people defaulting on their mortgaage the “chain reation” started by the “encouragement tax”: in the “biofuel initative” went “nuclear” and caused a “Global Economic Meltdown” as the banks tried to cash in their indemnity which was more then the backers or investors could lose/afford

Taxing Palm trees and making regulations on how often you canget a suttan wonlt stop Earthquakes in Hati

Neither will raising the federal tax on Gas to make it $7 a gallion as recently suggested to “encourage people to drive less and inspire more green alternatives” work

They tried that in 2007 and people did travel less causing layoofs in the travel industry leaving people unable to pay mortgage or shop, causing layoffs in retail/service with more people unable to pay mortgage/shop(repeat)

Be Best not to be in a forest that is burning,eh?

But that isn’t the Issue vs the held Solution

Using your jungle Fire anaology , you are going to tell me that Politicians Taxing wood from forests used for cooking and making laws adaptable days that people can use their out door grill with said wood will reduce the risk of future jungle Fires?
    NO
Neither will taxing oil or adaptable emmisions (and thereby raising the cost of everything) lower seas or stop climate variability
